The Splendour of the King.

There's gonna be a Great Awakening
There's gonna be a great revival in this land

Timor is a land of natural beauty

the hills are alive to the sound of music

in open fields of wild flowers

but i began to see the reality of their hidden pain when i visited an art school/museum and saw these- one depicting desolation

another of fear

humiliation

never quite freed from its war torn past though now a young independent nation.

God's amazing glory; give us hearts of compassion.

The chosen generation, the future, they are my reason.

A typical home.

The market

with plenty of vegetables.

Neither the young

nor the old do very much there - unemployment rates are nearly 60%.

The people i grew to love. (:

I wish i took a picture of the toilet i bathed in at the village. There were worms under the toilet seats, flies in the water that i bathed with, and flies well, everywhere. That aside, the trip was most spiritually enriching and a wonderful eye opener. A place with no electricity, failing power generators, water shortages, children who can't afford 25 cents a month to attend school, aye so much needs to be done there. I couldn't have survived the conditions without God's amazing grace; i was very sick days before i left for Timor, but i was perfectly well and healthy while i was there, and moment i got back i was down with the flu. And though the living conditions were harsh, i never felt happier and more at peace with everything and everyone. God works in strange ways, really.

We went there to teach and to give, but in return, i've learnt and received so much more than i ever expected.
